This Privacy Policy explains how Vitalize ("we," "us," or "the app"), operated by Joni Wurtz as a sole proprietor, collects, uses, and shares your information. Vitalize is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older and is offered only to users in the United States.

By creating an account and using Vitalize, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Information we collect

When you create an account and complete onboarding, we collect:

• Account information: your email address and password (passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not visible to us).
• Profile and health information: your name, age, height, weight, sex, wellness goal, dietary restrictions, and activity level. From this we calculate suggested daily calorie and macronutrient targets.
• Food log information: meals you log, including food names, meal type, quantity, and estimated calories and macronutrients.
• Meal photos: if you use the photo feature, the photo is sent for analysis (see "Third parties" below) and is not stored by us after analysis.

How we use your information

• To create and personalize your meal plans, workout plans, and supplement guidance.
• To calculate and display your nutrition targets and progress.
• To operate your account and provide the paid subscription.
• To respond to your requests and support inquiries.

Third parties who process your information

We use the following third-party service providers to operate the app. Some of your information, including health-related information, is sent to them so they can perform services for us:

• Supabase — stores your account, profile, and food log data, and manages login. Privacy policy
• Anthropic — receives your profile and goal information to generate supplement and workout recommendations. Privacy policy
• OpenAI — receives meal photos and text to estimate nutritional content. Privacy policy
• USDA FoodData Central — receives food search terms to return nutrition data.
• Apple — processes your subscription payment. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

These providers process your information on our behalf and under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

Washington Consumer Health Data (My Health My Data Act)

If you are a Washington State resident, the Washington My Health My Data Act provides you specific rights regarding your consumer health data. For purposes of that law, the health-related information described above (such as your height, weight, health goals, and food logs) may constitute "consumer health data."

We collect this data to provide the app's core features as described in this policy. We share it only with the service providers listed above, for the purposes stated. We do not sell consumer health data.

As a Washington resident, you have the right to:

• Confirm whether we are collecting, sharing, or selling your consumer health data, and access that data.
• Withdraw your consent to our collection and sharing of your consumer health data.
• Request deletion of your consumer health data.

Your choices and data deletion

You may request access to or deletion of your data at any time by emailing vitalizeapp@yahoo.com from the email address associated with your account. We process deletion requests manually and will confirm when your data has been removed. Deleting your data will end your ability to use the personalized features of the app.

Data retention

We keep your account, profile, and food log data for as long as your account is active. When you request deletion, we remove this data from our systems. Meal photos are not retained after analysis.

Data security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and access controls provided by our infrastructure providers, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Age restriction

Vitalize is intended only for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
